Mint
Mint is one of the most widely grown and used of all herbs and is great for adding in a wide range of dishes as well as drinks.

- One of the most widely grown and used of all herbs, easy to grow and useful in a wide range of dishes and drinks.
Sowing Indoors:
Sow thinly in trays of firm pre-watered compost and cover lightly with vermiculite or sieved compost. Place in warmth, 15-20°C and keep moist at all times.
Growing On:
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant to 8cm pots, allowing 3 or 4 seedlings per pot.
Hardening Off/Planting Out:
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out in a sunny spot, 30cm apart when risk of frost has passed. Water well until established. Alternatively, plant or sow directly into a container.
Advice:
Mint has a tendency to spread. Grow in pots to restrict its spread (these can be buried in the ground).
